About the seven chakras +

The chakra system is one of the most ancient and enduring maps of the human energy body — originating in the Vedic traditions of India over 3,000 years ago and woven into the foundations of yoga, Ayurveda, tantra, and many other spiritual and healing traditions. The word "chakra" comes from the Sanskrit word for "wheel" or "circle" — each chakra is understood as a spinning vortex of energy located at a specific point along the central energy column (sushumna) of the body.

In the most widely used system, there are seven main chakras, each associated with a specific location in the body, a colour from the visible light spectrum, an endocrine gland, a set of emotional and spiritual qualities, and a Sanskrit name. Together, the seven chakras form a complete map of human consciousness — from the most grounded, physical aspects of existence at the base (Root Chakra), to the most expanded, spiritual dimensions at the crown (Crown Chakra).

The seven rainbow colours associated with the chakras — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet — also correspond to the seven colours of the visible light spectrum, and many traditions hold that working to balance and harmonise the chakra system is equivalent to bringing all the colours of one's inner rainbow into full expression.

The seven chakras — detailed guide +
Root Chakra — Muladhara (Red)
Located at the base of the spine and associated with the gonads, the Root Chakra governs our most fundamental needs — safety, survival, physical stability, and our connection to the earth. When balanced, we feel grounded, secure, and at home in our own body and in the world.
Sacral Chakra — Svadhisthana (Orange)
Located in the lower abdomen and associated with the pancreas, the Sacral Chakra governs emotions, creativity, pleasure, and sexuality. When balanced, we feel emotionally fluid, creatively alive, and comfortable with intimacy and our own desires.
Solar Plexus Chakra — Manipura (Yellow)
Located in the solar plexus and associated with the adrenal glands, this chakra governs personal power, self-confidence, willpower, and ego. When balanced, we act with clarity, decisiveness, and a healthy sense of self.
Heart Chakra — Anahata (Green)
Located at the heart and associated with the thymus gland, the Heart Chakra governs love, compassion, forgiveness, and our sense of responsibility toward others. When balanced, we give and receive love freely and feel a deep sense of connection to all living beings.
Throat Chakra — Vishuddha (Blue)
Located at the throat and associated with the thyroid gland, this chakra governs communication, self-expression, and truth — both physical and spiritual. When balanced, we speak clearly, listen deeply, and express our authentic self with ease.
Third Eye Chakra — Ajna (Indigo)
Located at the centre of the forehead and associated with the pineal gland, the Third Eye governs intuition, inner vision, wisdom, and the capacity for forgiveness and compassion. When balanced, we trust our inner guidance and perceive beyond the surface of situations.
Crown Chakra — Sahasrara (Violet)
Located at the top of the head and associated with the pituitary gland, the Crown Chakra governs our connection to universal energy, higher consciousness, and spiritual enlightenment. When balanced, we feel a profound sense of connection to something greater than ourselves.

  • Surface — suitable for any smooth wall surface. Avoid hanging in areas with excessive moisture or direct sunlight, which may affect the fabric over time.
  • Cleaning — spot clean gently with a lightly damp cloth if needed. Do not machine wash — the wooden rods and fabric construction are not designed for machine washing.
