Juhi Absolute — also known as Jasmine Auriculatum Absolute or Juhi Oil — is extracted from the fragrant, delicate blossoms of the Jasminum auriculatum shrub growing in India. This is not the jasmine you already know. While Jasminum sambac and grandiflorum are the jasmine varieties found in most perfumes, Jasminum auriculatum is a rarer, less widely cultivated species that carries a deeply distinctive aromatic profile — white floral and oriental sweetness layered with playful musk, heady incense, the warmth of orange flower, and an unexpected tropical fruit dewiness. Jasminum auriculatum — commonly known as Juhi or Indian Jasmine — is a flowering shrub native to South Asia, found primarily in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and the Andaman Islands. It belongs to the Oleaceae family, the same botanical family as the more widely known Jasminum sambac and Jasminum grandiflorum.
In India, the Juhi flower is associated with purity, devotion, and spiritual offering — garlands of Juhi are used in temple ceremonies, woven into hair, and offered at shrines across the country. Its fragrance is considered one of the most uplifting and devotionally significant in the Indian aromatic tradition.
The absolute is produced through organic solvent extraction — a process that captures the full, complex fragrance of the flower more completely than steam distillation, which would destroy many of its most delicate aromatic molecules. Juhi Absolute is a thick, richly concentrated material. A little goes a very long way — begin with a small amount and adjust to your preference.
- Diffusion — add 2–4 drops to your diffuser with water for a warm, enveloping jasmine-incense atmosphere. Ideal in the evening or during meditation and yoga.
- Personal perfume — dilute 1–3% in a carrier oil (jojoba, fractionated coconut, or sweet almond) and apply to pulse points. The middle-to-base note character ensures excellent longevity on skin.
- Lava stone bracelet diffuser — apply 1–2 drops directly to the porous lava stone beads on your bracelet. The stone absorbs the oil and diffuses the fragrance gently throughout the day.
- Bath — add 3–5 drops diluted in a carrier oil or unscented bath salt to your bath. Never add undiluted essential oil directly to bath water.
- Skin care blend — add 1–2% to an unscented facial oil, serum, or body lotion. Always perform a patch test first.
- Perfume blending — use as a middle-to-base note anchor. Juhi pairs beautifully with sandalwood, cedarwood, rose, ylang-ylang, bergamot, orange, patchouli, and oud.
- Meditation & ritual — diffuse or place a drop on a terracotta diffuser ring during meditation or ritual work. Jasmine has deep roots in spiritual and devotional practice.

- Keep the cap tightly sealed between uses to prevent oxidation.
- In cold temperatures, Juhi Absolute may become very viscous. Gently warm the bottle between your hands for a few minutes before use.
- Properly stored, Juhi Absolute has a shelf life of 2–3 years.
